Hindsight and perspective walked hand in hand
along the sand, on a breezy beach of logic.
By chance it did happen, though not unexpected,
experiences inevitable meeting.
Through the crisp cool air, experience did blare,
a loud and clear voice of reason.
"It's been far from boring, spending so long exploring,
that which I knew not before.
Some called it tedious, though I knew it not meaningless,
so on I kept to keep going.
And now that I've met you, I can certainly address you
in a manner of grateful delight.
You've made it all worth it, not to dessert it;
My trifle that seemed such a plight.
Had I seen fit before, not to explore,
treats of knowledge I'd never have eaten.
Though it's taken a while, determination somehow,
got me here if not somewhat whether-beaten.
So I'll leave you now with a respectful bow,
a courteous nod and a wave.
We'll surely re-meet, but for now a great feat
of strength and courage I must brave.
For to start again, is both the pleasure and bane
